On Saturday, October 25th we visited the branch in Orhei. It is about an hour by maxi-taxi from Chisinau. We are responsible for supervising the seminary and institute class there. It is taught by the Branch President and his wife so I am not concerned that there would be a problem, but we want to show them our support. We will attend their church meetings this Sunday and have been asked to speak. It is a very small branch and there are only two Young Single Adults active in the branch. They are pictured here with Wendy. On the left is Tatania and on the right is Alena. Alena was just baptized last month and typical to these wonderful people has a depth of knowledge and faith that is hard to believe.
Tatania, on the left is a very brave young woman. She has one of the worst cases of Scoliosis you can imagine. She is in need of more surgery, but there is no one in Moldova that can do it. There is a Doctor in Russia that is willing to try, but the cost is out of the question for this young woman. I wish I was "Daddy Warbucks". You can learn more about Tatiana by going to her web site at: http://www.agiftfortatiana.com/site.asp?id=contactme
We travelled to Romania last Tuesday for a zone conference. A very long trip for one day, but received instruction from Elder Oaks of the Area Presidency. We are still working on our immigration and taking the physicals required by the government. It has been an adventure. You can get the "scoop" on the physicals by contacting one of our children. Not the kind of thing we post on a blog.
