On the first Saturday of each month, we visit the branch in Orhei for their Seminary / Institute class. Orhei is a small branch, located about 1 hour drive from Chisinau. It is the home of Tatiana who we have written about in the past. (Tatiana is pictured above on Wendy's left. The young woman on Wendy's right is Alena) These are two of the three young adults in the Orhei branch. The photo above is Bob with the branch President. (He is just 27 years old and has been branch president for 4 years)
The trip to Orhei is quite an adventure. We normally take a maxi-taxi which is an experience in and of itself. A maxi-taxi is a large van that seats 12 people. This trip we had in our maxi-taxi 18 people, so you can imagine how crowded it was. The roads here are full of pot holes so the ride is really rough. At one point the lady across from me had a man sitting on her lap. I don't belive they knew each other, but he fell on her when we hit one of the many potholes. The odors of vodka ect. permeate the air, but we have gotten used to that.
We had a nice lunch with the Elder's before class, that is always one of our favorite things to do. We love spending time with these wonderful young men and women missionaries. They are wonderful, dedicated and spiritual young adults who are wonderful examples of our church.
You might be wondering why Tatiana is still in Moldvoa. Her surgery had to be re-scheduled because of visa problems with the US Embassy. It has been re-scheduled for January and if her visa is issued she will leave for the US on January 4th.
Not much exciting going on right now. We are happy and working hard. We are grateful for your prayers.
