Ziua de Chisinau

It has been over a month since we have posted to our blog. There has not been alot of "exciting" things to write about this past month. Fall is here in full force, the leaves are changing and falling along with the temperature.

On October 8th they had a celebration for "Ziua de Chisinau" the day of Chisinau. Chisinau was founded in 1436 and they celebrate that each year. It reminded us alot of our Independence Day celebrations. The main street of the City, Stefan Cel Mare was closed to traffic and there were exihibits and vendors everywhere. As you can see from the photo's it seemed like everyone was there. There were small bands playing and later in the evening large concerts. We made sure we were home well before the big celebrations started. About 10pm someone set off a grenade in a large group of young people injuring over 40 people, 14 of them seriously. It was a sad ending to an otherwise fun celebration.

We miss being home with our growing family. We have two new grandchildren in the past month. Jacob Telford was born to Anthony and Shirea, and Stephen Scott was adopted by Scott and Star in Utah. We are truly blessed as parents and grandparents. We are anxious to get home and get to know these two new additions to our family.

We enjoy our work with the people of Moldova. We love working with our Young Single Adults. We meet every night and have activities on Saturday as well. The Lord has truly blessed us and our family.
