Balti

Many of you will recall our blog posting a few months ago, and our meeting this great young man named Cristi. He is 7 years old and lives with his grandmother and deaf mother on a very small pension. We were able to visit with Cristi and his family on Monday, August 24th along with Elders Scwartz and Lyon from the Orhei Branch,and Argentin Lungu, our friend and translator. We took Cristi a new Soccer Ball, and he lit up like a Christmas Tree! He is really an amazing young man. He is working very hard to learn English (on his own). He is very intelligent, he wants to grow up and be President of the United States.
Next week the mission will open Balti to missionaries. Everyone in Balti speaks Russian so they will get Russian speaking missionaries. We are hopeful that these missionaries will continue to help this family. It is our hope that we will be able to keep in contact with Cristie over the years to see how he is doing. He promised me that when he becomes President he will invite us to the White House.
